Notice Regarding Closure of Hobbs Collection Site
The Hobbs collection site will be closed beginning July 1, 2010 due to the construction process to install the final membrane over the old landfill. This is part of the environmental mitigation process to cap and seal the landfill.

The site will not accept any trash or recycling beginning July 1. The capping process is expected to take approximately six months.

Notice Regarding Collection Site Permits
Beginning January 1, 2011, a $25 charge will be implemented for County collection site permits. A permit is required to use County collection sites (Melville, Old Denton, and Preston). Permit costs will not be prorated and must be obtained each calendar year. Each vehicle must have a separate permit. Proof of County residency is required to obtain a permit.

No permit will be required to use the Mid-Shore II Regional Landfill Homeowner Drop-Off, which will replace the current Holly Road collection site.
