A permit is required to use County-run collection sites.
Each vehicle must have a separate permit. Proof of
County residency is required to obtain a permit.

The permit is valid at all County operated Solid Waste Disposal
Facilities, the hours of operation and locations of which are
provided below. A permit is not required to use the Homeowner
Drop Off area at the Mid-Shore II Regional Landfill on Holly
Road outside of Ridgely.
The permit sticker is required to be affixed
to the interior of the vehicle's windshield on the lower left
corner of the driver's side. A permit that is not affixed will
not be considered valid.
Your permit may not be transferred to any other vehicle
or individual. A replacement permit may be obtained
free of charge under the following limited circumstances
and if the Department is provided with the indicated
documentation:

Each site accepts general household trash (up to
10 bags) recycling of cardboard, scrap metal, and
waste oil.
You are limited to one visit per site, per day.
Permit Fee Schedule
Fees are charged for a 12-month period beginning each
September 1st. The permit fee is $100 for the first
quarter of the 12 month period. Part-year fees are
levied on a quarterly basis, not to exceed the full
year fee, per the following schedule:

Solid Waste Disposal Facility Rules
All Solid Waste Disposal Facilities owned or operated
by Caroline County pursuant to Chapter 127 - Littering
and Solid Waste Management of the Code shall be subject
to the following rules:
USING THE COLLECTION SITES WITHOUT
A VALID PERMIT OR IN VIOLATION OF THESE RULES CARRIES
AN INITIAL FINE OF $150 AND A FINE OF $300 FOR
SUBSEQUENT VIOLATIONS.
