Caroline County Board of Electrical Examiners

Charge/Authority:

The Board shall have the duty and power to administer the provisions of the Caroline County Electrical Code.
( Code of Public Local Laws of Caroline County, Maryland §98-3)

Composition: Five citizens of Caroline County appointed by the County Commissioners. Not more than three and not fewer than two members shall be persons who are engaged in the business of contracting electrical work. At least one of said persons shall have been engaged in such business for a period of at least five years prior to his appointment to the Board. One member shall be a person whose name appears on a list of candidates recommended by the Caroline County Firemen's Association, if such a list is furnished to the County Commissioners. The remaining member or members shall be persons selected by the County Commissioners as they may deem appropriate.
Term of Office: Three years. Terms shall begin on the first day of October and end on the last day of September. No member shall serve more than two consecutive terms. The Board shall elect one of its members as its Chairman. The Chairman shall serve as such for a term of one year. The Board shall appoint a Secretary and a Treasurer who need not be members of the Board. Both offices may be held by one person. These officers must be residents of Caroline County.
Meetings: Second Tuesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. in the Room 255 at the Health and Public Services Building, 403 South Seventh Street, Denton, or at such time and place as shall be designated by the Chairman of the Board. Meetings are open to the public unless closed under an applicable exception as stated in the Maryland Open Meetings Act ( State Government article, §10-508).
