County Land Use Plans

Planning prepares the government to protect the public health, safety, and welfare by projecting future population needs and making recommendations to ensure those needs can be met. The Land Use Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland, Land Use requires the county to plan for the future following Maryland’s Statewide Visions.

Creating these plans requires analyzing data collected by the department and the Census, as well by other local jurisdictions and state agencies. Data collected and prepared by the department, such as reports on new home construction, permits issued, and subdivisions processed are available by contacting the department. However, to serve you better we ask that you email or call ahead to request any data or reports.

Note: Plans available on the web may not include recent amendments. Please contact the office for an official copy.
